A small rant and analyses

It seems anything calm and organized is modern webdesign now. I always happen to stumble across the word "modern" when I see people who aren't into clutter, 400 blinkies and background textures spam and I'm not going to lie, I dislike it.

Modern websites are something entirely different to me. Not less cluttered simple design choices. Most modern sites are horribly overanimated and consist of loud titles and sloagens that say nothing. They're not just clean but bland and content-low. (this is not meant to bash websites but most modern sites do fall in this cathegory)

For example look at these two

https://www.umanironchi.com
https://www.allies.studio/

Both of these websites follow a pretty similar path. A personal site or profile is of course not the same as a business website but the point still stands.

Interesting web playarounds, but highly impractical

What have I in common with modern websites?

Nothing. The only difference to a lot of personal "indie sites" is that I prefer calmer pages and don't have an """aesthetic""", simply because I don't care about that. My site is content (my characters, writing, artwork) orientated nor does it jump and slide in 80 directions.

What I do have is more space to let elements breath. Not everything needs to be tiny, squished together and decorated to infinity and beyond. Same goes for textures. I love textures and I love images, but I don't need a busy background, colorful text and 30 gifs behind an art gallery or character story. That's something I'd uterlize on a page where I don't care about focusing on information. For example my pets pages are super decorative and I don't care if people read that. They're meant to look playful, not much else.

Differantiate between sites easy on the brain and modern ones. Just because something has less brainrot, doesnt mean it's modern slop. Content is my focus and important to me. I surely don't appreciate being compared to modern websites, be mindful.
