A rant and analyses

It seems anything calm and organized is modern webdesign now. I always happen to stumble across the word "modern" when I see people who aren't into clutter, 400 blinkies and background textures spam and I'm not going to lie, I dislike it.

Modern websites are something entirely different to me. Not just "clean and organized design". In fact, most modern sites are horribly overanimated and consist of loud titles and sloagens that say nothing. They're not just clean but bland, content-low and annoying. (not all modern websites are bad, this is not meant to bash websites but most sites do fall in this cathegory)

We will start with modern website examples, let's take a look at these two:

https://prosvirindesign.eu

Both of these websites follow a pretty similar path. I want you to focus primarily on the visuals, less on the content, a personal site or profile is of course not the same as a business website but the point still stands.

What stands out here?

In comparison, I want you to take a look at some of my sites (not going to link random personal sites here, not sure if this is liked). I had people label it "modern" or "too modern" before several times even though my taste is not there.

What have I in common with modern websites?

To put is short. Nothing. The only difference to a lot of personal sites and profiles I see is that I enjoy organized clean structures, calm color combos and don't have an """aesthetic""", simply because I don't care about that. My structure isnt empty or low content nor does it jump and slide. I also don't have a ton of white space and 1 thing split in 8 sections of endless scrolling.

What I do have is space to let elements breath. Not everything needs to be tiny and squished together. This is not organized nor is it easy to follow. Same goes for textures. I love textures and I love images. But I don't need a busy background, colorful text and 30 gifs behind an art gallery or character background story. That's something I'd uterlize on a page where you don't need to read or explore content. For example my pets are super decorative and I don't mind if people read and engage with it or not. They're meant to be playful and fun. That's it.

Please split between sites that are simply meant to be easy on the eyes and organized, and modern design. Just because something is clean, doesnt mean it's modern. Content is important, to some more to others less and that's okay. But my goal isnt to make fancy cluttered and highly decorated pages of eyevomit nor to make a soulless 2025 modern website. My goal is that you enjoy reading about my work and don't feel distracted or confused doing so.

I don't like being compared to modern websites, please be mindful. Its like its too modern for people just because I don't use light grey, spam textures or poor color combinations. You people just can't handle something more grounded and all you care about is junk. Blunt, I admit, but I'm not going to apologize.
