ugh.. the little dude crossed the rainbow bridge as well... I thought I would have him longer. This is pain in the a$$ big time. May slowed down more and more and more until he was falling off the wall and never went back up again. I tried everything I could, but he passed the next day...

I'm just writing this entry now, on the 10th, I didn't feel too well the last couple of days because of May and other personal reasons. Its super frustrating to lose them every single time. I know their lifespan is short, but that was too short, he deserved better. I have a gut feeling I am doing 1 or 2 things wrong which is causing them to pass soon after adulthood and I'm looking into it more next year. I definitely want another spider friend and I want them to feel good in the home they're in. May's death felt wrong and maybe it wasn't my fault but I blame it on myself every single time a little friend passes, because I know they can reach a few years with good care. It hurts my heart.

Rest in peace

Have fun with Ori and Holly up in spiderheaven...

May has grown again last month. He still looks quite tiny to me. It was probably his last molt however. Looks pretty mature to me. He has a really fun personality as well and I am honestly a bit scared to loose him when I open his enclosure to mist it. He jumped right into me 2 times now. And holy moly, he jumps FAR. I was a bit shocked by the range... Especially when he made the jump from the top right corner onto the edge of my lower board. Thats approx 60cm.

He is super curious and always checks out what I am doing. Even from pretty far away. Idk I think he has better eyesight than my regal jumpers. Or its just his awake personality.

Finally getting around to update May's diary and gallery again! *He has grown!!! And may turn out to be a dude! His coloration starts to vanish with every molt now. Unless.. he suddenly turns yellow and fluffy again but I dont think that's how Hyllus develop xD It would be a big surprise for sure.

May entered his big enclosure now and is out of the egg I had him in. He's enjoying the huge space and is exploring a lot. Much more than my other spoods ever did. They really have much different behaviour.

I now also finally added his name tag to the enclosure bottom!

May is doing very well! She molted on the 19th this month and has changed colors very slightly, and she has her 8th leg back, which looks more transparent than the rest of her legs. She's now lighter, yellow and more fuzzy. However I am still not sure what gender she is. Gonna wait a few more molts to be sure.

She's eating very well and already got two small worms from me. She's currently in her hammock chilling and looking at me whenever I move. Which.. is just too cute TwT Haven't handled her yet, she's pretty uninterested in interacting like that (yet). She's also still super clumsy and jumps and falls when trying to catch prey. But she seems stronger than before. Aw well, she will get there :'D

Writing my first entry here today! Meet May, my new jumper! May arrived on the 8th and is with me since then. She arrived safely and is doing fine. I gave her some time and later tried to give her a firebrat. However she was very affraid and run away and jumped like crazy. So I left here alone for the night.

On the next day, I tried again, with no success but then I tried a worm. Most of my worms are quite big, but I found 2 very small ones inbetween. I tried to give it to her. At first, she was hiding again, but then she attacked the worm. I was so happy to see that, as her abdomen was relatively small (not dangerous, but small). Also I will call her a "she", but she is not old enough to tell. Hyllus Diardi take quite a long time until you can identify them.
